Ana Celia de Armas Caso was born in Cuba, and brought up with Spanish parents. She started her career in Cuba through a major part in the romance drama Una rosa de Francia. In 2007, she relocated away from Madrid to Spain and started starring in El Internado, a popular spanish drama for six seasons. When she moved into Los Angeles, de Armas had English-speaking roles in the psychological thriller Knock Knock (2015) and the comedy-crime movie War Dogs (2016). She rose to prominence with her role as the holographic AI projection Joi in the science-fiction film Blade Runner 2049 (2017). Ana de Armas and Ben Affleck were in a relationship before Affleck left with Jennifer Lopez as a wife. Affleck had a relationship with Ana de Armas for nearly one year, following their appearance on Deep Water. Ana de Armas attracted more interest during her time to Ben Affleck. But it wasn't the attention that someone would like. Ballerina will be a spinoff that will star Ana de Armas, who plays Rooney.
